Deuba Clarifies Remarks on Yogi Adityanath’s Alleged Visit to Nepal Embassy

Kathmandu: Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba has clarified his earlier remarks regarding Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, stating that his previous statement was based on misinformation.

Addressing a program in Kathmandu on Saturday, Deuba said he had mistakenly commented on the matter due to receiving incorrect information. He clarified that Yogi Adityanath had not visited the Nepali Embassy in New Delhi, as he had previously stated.

“When I spoke the other day, it was based on wrong information,” said Deuba. “The Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh did not come to the Nepali Embassy in Delhi. It was actually the Nepali Ambassador who went to meet him.”

On Chaitra 25 (April 7, 2025), Deuba had claimed that Adityanath visited the embassy and expressed that he was not in favor of restoring the monarchy in Nepal. The recent clarification aims to correct that claim.
