Kathmandu: The Nepal civil servants protest continues as trade unions press the State Affairs and Good Governance Committee for the enactment of the long-delayed Federal Civil Service Act. Sit-In Protest at Singha Durbar

Ahead of the committee’s meeting today at Singha Durbar, members of the Joint Trade Union Coordination Committee staged a sit-in outside the meeting hall. Union leaders regularly appear on days the committee convenes to voice their demands, highlighting the urgency of the issue.

Escalation Plans Announced

The unions have announced plans to escalate their campaign. On Wednesday (Baisakh 10), a mobilization committee will form, followed by a mass gathering in front of the Parliament Secretariat on Friday (Baisakh 12). These actions aim to pressure the government to pass the Federal Civil Service Act promptly.
