Minister Gupta Participates in UNPFII Indigenous Issues Forum in New York

New York: Minister for Federal Affairs and General Administration Rajkumar Gupta is leading the Nepali delegation at the 24th Session of the United Nations Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues (UNPFII) in New York, USA. During the conference, Minister Gupta has held bilateral meetings with several high-level officials.
On Monday, he met with Deputy Prime Ministers, Foreign Ministers, and other ministers from various countries, discussing matters of mutual interest and future cooperation.
The forum is currently engaging in extensive discussions on themes including economic and social development, cultural and environmental preservation, education, healthcare, and human rights.
One of the core focuses of the session is the implementation of the UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP). The forum aims to highlight best practices and tackle challenges in securing indigenous rights across UN member states and within the broader UN system.
Minister Gupta is scheduled to participate in the program from April 21 to May 2 (Baisakh 8–19) and is expected to return to Nepal following the conclusion of the event.
