Policy and Program for Upcoming Fiscal Year to Be Presented on Baisakh 19

Pre-Budget Discussions to Begin on Jestha 2; Parliament to Operate Daily Except Holidays

Baisakh 19

Kathmadnu: A draft parliamentary calendar has been prepared, setting Baisakh 19 (May 1) as the date for presenting the government’s policy and program for the upcoming fiscal year. The draft was finalized by Speaker Devraj Ghimire following a meeting with chief whips of the major political parties.

Pre-Budget Deliberations to Start on Jestha 2

The government has also proposed that pre-budget discussions begin from Jestha 2 (May 15). This proposal will be tabled at the Business Advisory Committee meeting scheduled for Baisakh 12 (April 24).

Parliament to Run Daily Amid Heavy Legislative Load

Due to the busy legislative schedule—including the School Education Bill, policy discussions, and the full-fledged annual budget, Speaker Ghimire has proposed that the House operate every day except on Saturdays and public holidays. The meeting of party whips has already approved this proposal.
