Kathmandu: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli urged CPN-UML lawmakers to actively participate in PM Oli policy defense and confidently support government policies and programs. He gave this direction during a party parliamentary meeting held on Saturday in Baluwatar.

Oli highlighted that the opposition often opposes government policies regardless of their merits. “Even when policies are beneficial, the opposition criticizes them,” he said.

Importance of Parliamentary Preparedness

The Prime Minister advised lawmakers to study government policies thoroughly and present their views clearly in Parliament. He noted that CPN-UML, as the largest party, carries not only numerical strength but also the responsibility of vision and ideas.

Oli emphasized preparing written points before debates. “Having a written agenda makes it easier to express ideas and ensures that nothing is missed,” he said.

Responding to Opposition Criticism

Oli encouraged lawmakers to remain ready to respond quickly to incorrect statements made during parliamentary debates. He argued that keeping certain statements on record, even if disputed, helps future generations understand the discussions and positions of the government.

This approach is central to the PM Oli policy defense, ensuring the party presents a strong, organized response while advocating for government programs.
