Nepal national budget discussion

Kathmandu: Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Acting Chairperson and House of Representatives member DP Aryal urged the government to focus the upcoming national budget on Nepal budget priorities. Specifically, he highlighted education, healthcare, employment generation, infrastructure, and good governance. Aryal made these remarks during the first session of the budget discussion in Parliament. He stressed the importance of public trust and efficient service delivery.

DP Aryal Outlines Nepal Budget Priorities

Aryal noted that the largest portion of the budget goes to education and healthcare. However, employment creation, infrastructure, and governance attract the most public attention. “Therefore, the government should align the budget with these Nepal budget priorities,” he said.

Moreover, he emphasized the need to support productivity growth, modernize agriculture, promote industry, ensure social justice, and increase inclusivity through budget policies.

Tackling Budget Misuse

Aryal also criticized the current allocation system. He said politicians often influence fund distribution instead of prioritizing need. “Budgeting for projects already under local and provincial governments, and spreading funds across non-productive sectors to satisfy party loyalists, must stop,” he stated.

Additionally, he urged the government to adopt balanced and reform-oriented policies. These include tax reforms, cutting non-essential spending, and investing public debt in productive sectors.

“Furthermore, revenue growth must come with better taxation policies. Expenditures must be managed wisely to meet Nepal’s development goals,” Aryal concluded, linking his recommendations to Nepal budget priorities.
