Alexa Saline Factory Brings New Opportunities

Morang: The Alexa saline factory has officially opened in Budhiganga, Morang, marking a key development in Nepal’s medical manufacturing sector. The facility is owned by Alexa Life Sciences Pvt. Ltd., founded by experienced businessmen Dinesh Thakur and Ranjit Bhagat. The project aims to produce high-quality saline water, meet domestic demand, and reduce reliance on imports.

Production Plans and Capacity
According to Thakur, who also chairs the company, production will begin in Shrawan (July 2025). Initially, the factory will focus on Large Volume Parenterals (LVP). It will produce saline water in four bottle sizes: 100 ml, 500 ml, 1,000 ml, and 3,000 ml.
Once fully operational, the Alexa saline factory will manufacture 900,000 bottles per month. The total investment is NPR 1 billion. The facility follows World Health Organization (WHO) standards and other international quality guidelines. This ensures high-quality production and reliable output.

Future Expansion and Export Plans
In the second phase, Alexa Life Sciences plans to introduce Small Volume Parenterals (SVP) in limited quantities. Furthermore, the company intends to export its saline products internationally under the same brand. This reflects a long-term growth strategy and global vision.
Experts note that the Alexa saline factory will create jobs in Morang. Additionally, it will improve Nepal’s medical saline supply and strengthen the country’s manufacturing capabilities.
