PM Oli Urges Protesting Teachers to Consider National Interest Over Personal Gains

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has criticized protesting teachers for focusing solely on their own interests, stating that such actions will not lead to a solution. Addressing a rally organized by the CPN-UML in Butwal on Friday, PM Oli, who also chairs the party, said the government has already invited teachers for talks and that taking to the streets was unnecessary.
“There are issues, but hitting the streets was not the solution,” said Oli. “Teachers should not think only of their own benefits. The national interest and the country’s economic condition must also be taken into account. Emotional decisions don’t bring real solutions.”
The Prime Minister assured that a proper Education Act will be introduced soon. Emphasizing political stability, Oli stated that the current coalition between the Nepali Congress and CPN-UML was formed to ensure national development and prevent further instability.
“The current government won’t fall just because some people wish it to,” he added, reinforcing confidence in the coalition’s strength and purpose.
