Raghuji Pant Appointed Nepal’s New Education Minister

Kathmandu, Nepal – The President of Nepal, Ram Chandra Paudel, appointed Raghuji Pant Education Minister of the Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology. The recommendation came from Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, according to sources at Sheetal Niwas.
Pant is a proportional representation lawmaker from CPN-UML. He is expected to take the oath on Thursday, although the exact time is not finalized. His appointment comes at a crucial moment as the ministry pushes forward education reforms and digital learning initiatives.
Replacing Bidya Bhattarai
Pant replaces Bidya Bhattarai, who resigned on April 20 (Baisakh 8). She officially cited health reasons. Later, she stated that limited cooperation from the Prime Minister and difficulties executing her duties influenced her decision. Pant’s appointment aims to ensure smoother policy implementation.
Expected Initiatives
As Raghuji Pant Education Minister, he will focus on improving school infrastructure and expanding digital learning programs. He also plans to strengthen collaboration between educational institutions and the technology sector.
