Devotees Flock to Janaki Temple in Janakpur to Mark New Year 2082

Janakpurdham: On the occasion of Nepali New Year 2082, thousands of devotees gathered at the historic Janaki Temple in Janakpurdham to offer prayers, seeking blessings for peace, prosperity, and good fortune throughout the year.

From the early hours of the day, crowds of worshippers filled the premises of Janaki Temple, along with nearby sacred sites including Ram Mandir, Janak Mandir, and Bhootnath Mandir. Devotees believe that temple visits and religious rituals performed on the first day of the New Year bring special blessings and ensure a fruitful year ahead.

Hari Bahadur Wali, Chief of Dhanusha Traffic Police, stated that people came to the temple guided by the strong religious belief that worshipping on New Year’s Day brings divine favor throughout the year.

Meanwhile, managing the influx of tourists and pilgrims proved to be a significant challenge for the local traffic police, who had been on duty since early morning to manage the situation. Both domestic and international visitors flocked to Janakpur not only for religious purposes but also for sightseeing and celebration.

The temple grounds remained packed throughout the day with devotees offering prasad, while long queues also formed outside the Janaki Temple Museum, indicating a surge in religious tourism.
