Traffic Police Brutally Assaulting a Civilian
Kathmandu – Four traffic police officers have been suspended from their posts at Jansewa Traffic Division after a video of them assaulting a civilian in broad daylight went viral on social media Thursday morning.
According to Deepak Giri, spokesperson for the Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office, the incident occurred under the Akashe Bridge in Sundhara on Mangsir 11 (Nov 27). All four officers involved have been summoned to the head office, where an internal investigation is currently underway.
Brutal Beating Caught on Camera
In the widely circulated video, four uniformed traffic police officers are seen pinning a man to the ground and kicking him. One officer can be seen throwing the man’s documents to the ground and walking away, while others continue the assault.
The video has sparked public outrage, with calls for stricter accountability and transparency within Nepal’s traffic police forces.
