Kathmandu – The PM Oli parliament address scheduled for the first day of Nepal’s Federal Parliament budget session has been postponed. Mahesh Bartaula, Chief Whip of the CPN-UML, confirmed the delay, explaining that key party leaders are absent.

The Prime Minister was originally set to speak at 1 PM today. However, Nepali Congress leader Sher Bahadur Deuba is currently in Thailand, and main opposition leader Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has traveled to Gorkha. Consequently, the parliamentary authorities decided to postpone the PM’s address to ensure full participation of all major leaders.

Reason for Postponement

Officials said that speeches during the budget session should include all major party leaders. Therefore, delaying the PM Oli parliament address was necessary to maintain proper representation.

Initial Budget Session Speeches

Meanwhile, secondary leaders from major parties will speak in the Prime Minister’s place. Their addresses will outline government policy, programs, and the upcoming national budget. Observers note that these initial speeches will set the tone for debates throughout the session.

Rescheduling and Future Plans

The government plans to reschedule the PM Oli parliament address once top leaders return. Analysts expect the Prime Minister to highlight government priorities, fiscal strategies, and economic growth initiatives. In addition, timely speeches and debates will ensure transparency and parliamentary accountability.

The budget session remains crucial for shaping Nepal’s policy framework, approving key legislation, and guiding national economic planning. Moreover, lawmakers are expected to actively collaborate with committees to ensure all proposals reflect national priorities.
