PM Oli Challenges Gagan Thapa to Prove Bedroom Access Allegations
Oli Defends His Leadership Amid Accusations of Middlemen's Influence

Kathmandu: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has challenged those accusing him of allowing middlemen into his bedroom to provide proof. His statement directly targets Nepali Congress General Secretary Gagan Thapa, who recently claimed that brokers had access to the Prime Minister’s private quarters.
Speaking at a program in Kathmandu on April 14, Thapa argued that Nepal’s current economic problems were largely due to the influence of middlemen, emphasizing that the private sector and brokers are two very different entities.
PM Oli Criticizes “Scheming Politicians”
Inaugurating the Fourth National Conference of the Madan Bhandari Foundation on Sunday, Prime Minister Oli criticized what he described as scheming, conspiratorial politicians who make such accusations without shame.
He stated that stability, development, and good governance were starting to gain momentum through a government formed with the participation of both the CPN-UML and Nepali Congress. According to Oli, this progress prompted opposition forces to launch baseless allegations.
“False accusations are being made as if the government has done nothing, as if we are committing crimes,” Oli said. “Nowadays, the blue-colored jackals are making a lot of noise, but their true nature will not last long.”
Oli Reaffirms UML’s Election Goals
Oli further noted that the CPN-UML aims to emerge as a decisive national force in the upcoming elections, relying on honest politics rooted in correct ideology and truth.
Commenting on rumors about the government’s downfall after Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba returns from Thailand, Oli said those spreading such rumors must now feel embarrassed as their predictions have failed.
Addressing internal party matters, Oli emphasized the need for unity rather than excessive critical awareness. He added, “We need a sense of unity within the party. We must counter the opposition’s accusations. Simply harboring critical awareness within the party without standing strong against opponents is not the right path.”
