MP Ganesh Parajuli Alleges 10 Billion Rupees Corruption in Pokhara International Airport Project
Parajuli Calls for Accountability and Action Against Corrupt Officials

Ganesh Parajuli speaks in the House of Representatives, demanding action against those involved in corruption during the construction of Pokhara International Airport.
Kathmandu: Ganesh Parajuli, a Member of Parliament (MP) from the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), has accused officials of massive corruption in the construction of the Pokhara International Airport.
Corruption Alleged in Pokhara Airport Project
Speaking in the House of Representatives on Sunday, Parajuli said the construction agreement for the airport was signed in 2014 under former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli. The airport was inaugurated in 2022, but it remains mostly non-operational. Only test flights have taken place so far.
Allegations of 10 Billion Rupees Misappropriated
Parajuli claimed officials misappropriated more than 10 billion rupees from the total 22 billion rupees loaned for the project. The sub-committee of the Public Accounts Committee revealed these irregularities. He asked whether the government has the courage to hold the corrupt officials accountable.
Call for Immediate Accountability
The MP demanded that all involved in the corruption be held responsible. He noted that the airport’s runway is still incomplete and said international media has reported the scandal. Parajuli also questioned the Prime Minister’s earlier promises to fight corruption in Nepal.
Proposal for a Judicial Investigation Committee
To address the issue, Parajuli proposed forming a high-level judicial investigation committee. He urged the authorities to investigate the irregularities and bring all involved individuals to justice.
