Kathmandu: The CPN Maoist Centre campaign, titled “Janata Sanga Maoist Jagarana Abhiyan,” concluded today in Kanchanpur district. This marked the end of a two-month political outreach initiative that began in Jhapa, eastern Nepal.

Launched on 12th Falgun (February 24) from Baniyani, Kachankawal Rural Municipality, Jhapa, the campaign traveled westward along the Hulaki Highway. Its goal was to reconnect the party with its grassroots base across Nepal. Despite brief pauses, the campaign resumed with energy and concluded this week in the far-western belt.

Dahal’s Final Day Engagements

Tour of Shova Taal: Former Prime Minister and party chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal (Prachanda) visited Shova Taal, a local tourist destination in Reclamation Municipality–5.

Interaction with Victim Families: He engaged with families of conflict-era martyrs and disappeared persons at Shova Taal, discussing their concerns and paying respect to their sacrifices.

Tribute at Belauri: Prachanda also garlanded the statue of revolutionary leader Bhimdatta Pant at Belauri Bazaar, symbolically honoring the legacy of Nepal’s revolutionary movement.

The campaign emphasized youth mobilization, legacy revival, and political reawakening. Party officials described it as an effort to strengthen the party’s presence at the grassroots level and reconnect with citizens amid ongoing political flux.
