Kathmandu: The CPN (Maoist Centre)’s mass outreach campaign titled “Janata Sanga Maoist Jagarana Abhiyan” concludes today in Kanchanpur district, bringing an end to a two-month political campaign that began from Jhapa in eastern Nepal.

Launched on 12th Falgun (February 24) from Baniyani of Kachankawal Rural Municipality, Jhapa, the campaign moved westward along the Hulaki Highway, aiming to reconnect with the party’s grassroots base. Despite brief pauses, it resumed with momentum and ended this week in the far-western belt.

Dahal’s Final Day Engagements:

  • Tour of Shova Taal: Former Prime Minister and party chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal (Prachanda) visited Shova Taal, a local tourist destination in Reclamation Municipality–5.

  • Interaction with Victim Families: He met with families of conflict-era martyrs and disappeared persons, engaging in dialogue at the Shova Taal premises.

  • Tribute at Belauri: Prachanda also garlanded the statue of revolutionary leader Bhimdatta Pant at Belauri Bazaar in a symbolic gesture of remembrance and honor.

The campaign emphasized youth mobilization, legacy revival, and political reawakening, reflecting the party’s attempt to reposition itself amid ongoing political flux.
