President Paudel Presents Government Policy for FY 2082/83 in Parliament
Addressing a joint session, the President outlined Nepal’s national policy and program, setting the legislative tone for the upcoming fiscal year.

Kathmandu: President Ram Chandra Paudel has formally presented the government’s policy and program for fiscal year 2082/83 at a joint session of the Federal Parliament. The session took place at the Parliament building in New Baneshwor, where both the House of Representatives and the National Assembly convened.
Prime Minister K.P. Sharma Oli handed over the official document to President Paudel prior to the address. Speaker Dev Raj Ghimire, National Assembly Chair Narayan Prasad Dahal, and Parliamentary General Secretary Padya Prasad Pandey welcomed the President to the session.
As per tradition, President Paudel received full state honors, including a guard of honor from a unit of the Nepal Army. The President, who also serves as the Supreme Commander of the Army, was welcomed with a ceremonial ‘Risalla’ escort at the gate of the Parliament building.
The joint session was attended by Vice President Ram Sahay Prasad Yadav, former Prime Ministers, ex-Speakers, heads of constitutional bodies, diplomats, and representatives from the private sector.
The event was broadcast live by Nepal Television, Radio Nepal, and other media outlets.
The Parliament building was specially decorated with national flags and banners, and guests were welcomed at the main entrance with a water fountain display. Over 400 invited guests attended the presentation, with special entry passes issued by the Parliament Secretariat.
According to Article 95 of Nepal’s Constitution, the President must address the joint session of the Federal Parliament. The Parliament Secretariat has scheduled discussions on the policy and program from Baisakh 22 to 28.
Deliberations on the principles and priorities of the Appropriation Bill will begin on Baisakh 30. As per constitutional provisions, the annual national budget will be presented by the Finance Minister on Jestha 15 in a joint session of Parliament.
