Kathmandu: On the occasion of World Press Freedom Day 2025, President Ramchandra Paudel emphasized the importance of responsible and courageous journalism, urging Nepali media to exercise its constitutional rights freely and ethically. He highlighted that press freedom in Nepal is essential for both democracy and citizens’ right to information.

“A free and fair press is the foundation of democracy,” President Paudel said. “Nepali media has played a vital role in all democratic movements. Strong, independent, and neutral journalism strengthens our democratic system.”
