Kathmandu: CPN (Maoist Centre) Deputy General Secretary Janardan Sharma has raised concerns regarding Janardan Sharma parliamentary questions, calling on the government to respond seriously to queries raised by lawmakers in Parliament. During Tuesday’s House of Representatives session, Sharma criticized the administration for ignoring questions and urged the Speaker to enforce accountability.

Government Ignoring Parliamentary Questions

Sharma highlighted that lawmakers’ concerns are being overlooked. Speaking during the Zero Hour, he remarked, “The government is neither solving citizens’ problems nor responding to queries raised in this House. Why this irresponsibility?” He stressed that continued neglect undermines the purpose of parliamentary oversight.

Demands for Transparency and Accountability

The lawmaker urged the Speaker to instruct the government to answer queries sincerely. “If we’re only going to waste time in Zero Hour, then let’s shut it down. Otherwise, I request the Speaker to direct the government to respond seriously,” Sharma said. His statement reflects growing frustration over administrative inertia in addressing public concerns.

Implications for Governance

Sharma’s criticism underscores the importance of parliamentary accountability in Nepal’s governance. Ignoring questions can delay policymaking, reduce transparency, and erode public trust. Experts argue that prompt government responses are critical for effective legislation and citizen welfare.
