Nepal Urges Peace Amid India-Pakistan Tensions, Reaffirms Anti-Terror Stand

Nepal’s Foreign Ministry expresses deep concern over regional tensions, urges restraint, and reiterates its commitment to fight terrorism.

Kathmandu: Nepal has urged peace in the region and reaffirmed its strong stance against terrorism, amid rising tensions between India and Pakistan.

On Thursday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs released a statement expressing deep concern over the situation. The concern follows the April 22 terrorist attack in Pahalgam, India, where a Nepali citizen lost their life.

“Nepal and India grieved together during this tragedy,” the ministry said. “We condemned the barbaric attack immediately and firmly stand against all forms of terrorism.”

The government also pledged to prevent any use of Nepali territory against its neighboring countries. While Nepal did not mention India’s reported missile strike on Pakistan directly, the statement came almost two days later, signaling Nepal’s appeal for restraint and regional stability.
