Over 30 youth and civic thinkers join the award-winning “Shaping Political Futures” workshop to reimagine politics, policy, and federalism in Nepal.

Kathmandu: The Global Shapers Kathmandu Hub, in partnership with Karkhana Samuha, concluded its two-day political imagination workshop “Power, Process, Structure, and Discourse” on June 28–29, 2025. Part of its WEF Innovation Prize 2024-winning project “Shaping Political Futures,” this workshop brought together over 30 youth, policy experts, and civic actors from across Nepal.

Global Shapers Kathmandu Political Workshop Reimagines Power and Process
The event aimed to rethink Nepal’s political systems with an emphasis on empathy, inclusion, and evidence-based leadership. Esteemed speakers included:

Day Two: Leadership, Simulation, and Mental Wellbeing
Day two opened with a wellness session led by Mero Mansik Yatra, another initiative by Global Shapers Kathmandu. Participants then explored education, entrepreneurship, and policy reform with:

To encourage creative problem-solving, a social deduction game simulated trust, deception, and collaboration.
Key Themes: Youth Ownership and Political Responsibility
A major goal of the Global Shapers Kathmandu political workshop was to empower youth to take ownership of Nepal’s political future. In a session called “Letter to the Representative,” each participant wrote directly to their local or national leader, voicing personal visions for change.

“This isn’t just a workshop,” said Deanna Sherpa, Curator of Global Shapers Kathmandu Hub.
“It’s a political lab. These participants are ready to lead with courage and innovation.”
