Congress Leader Jivan Pariyar Writes Open Letter to PM Oli: “Why Isn’t the Government Taking Teachers’ Protest Seriously?”

Kathmandu: Nepali Congress Joint General Secretary and Member of Parliament Jivan Pariyar has issued a strongly worded open letter to Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, questioning the government’s indifference towards the ongoing protests by Nepal Teachers’ Federation.
The letter highlights the peaceful yet persistent nature of the teachers’ protest, which has now entered a crucial phase with Kathmandu-centered demonstrations since Chaitra 20. Pariyar reminded the Prime Minister that the government had made multiple commitments to the teachers’ federation in the past but failed to implement them.
“It is deeply concerning that despite several rounds of informal talks between concerned ministers and our party, no results have been achieved so far,” Pariyar stated.
While the rest of the country is celebrating the start of the New Year 2082, thousands of teachers have been compelled to protest in the streets of Maitighar, demanding that the government fulfill their legitimate demands.
Pariyar expressed frustration over the government’s perceived lack of seriousness, questioning whether the teachers’ disciplined approach is being mistaken for weakness.
“If the government fails to resolve this issue within the next day or two, the Nepali Congress will be forced to take this matter very seriously,” he warned in the letter.
The open letter ends with a direct call for action, urging the Prime Minister to engage responsibly and respectfully with the protesting educators.
